Play to Win 3

“Now that that’s settled then,” Mikael put down his glass of wine onto the table. “will you be joining us for a town’s annual summer party they have every year?” Mikael asked with a skeptical tone. He did not sound like he wanted him to come at all.

Niklaus knew what this meant. The family was to go out and each have a little fun of their own but not too much fun. But he had some other plans in mind.

“ No I think I’ll stay in tonight, work on my paintings.” Niklaus said taking a sip of his wine.

“What are you working on, Niklaus? You know I admire your work.” Rebekah said from across the table.

“Not sure yet, sister. But I promise you, you will be the first I show.” Niklaus smiled at his sister. Rebekah smiled back.

“Alright then, family.” Mikael rose from the table. “Shall we get ready for this evenings activites?”

The whole family rose and each went their separate ways to get ready. Each one went to their rooms and in a moments notice were out and ready. Niklaus stayed in his room and pulled out his paints. Rebekah opened to door. “Don’t be shy if you want to come. You know you will be missed.”

“I would not count on me being missed but do not fret. I will if I feel like it, sister.” Niklaus gave his sister a reassuring grin. She grinned back and closed the door.

When everyone was finally gone, Niklaus heard the door bell ring. He smiled, for he knew exactly who it was. He walked out of his room and went down stairs to open the door to greet Caitie.

“Hi. Is everyone gone? I waited the latest I could.” She said shivering.

Niklaus looked at her in awe. She had her hair tied up in a ribbon and was not wearing a dress like she would normally wear out. She was indeed wearing trousers like men did. Not to say Niklaus didn’t think they looked good on her.

“Yes, they all went into town for the night. Come inside.”

Caitie walked through the big double doors and looked around. “Wow, this is your house?” she said in amazement.

“It’s nothing special I can assure you.” Niklaus told her with a blank stare.

“Are you kidding me? It’s amazing. I would do anything to live like this.” Caitie said, still looking around the room in awe. “Oh so there is something you’ve been wanting to tell me?” Caitie said as she looked down from her visual tour of the Mikaelsen family home.

“Yes, but let us worry about that later. Drink?”, Niklaus looked at Caitie with a dark stare. It had been a while since he drank blood, but he had forgotten that since all he could think about lately was her. He fought the craving, and hard he fought.

“No thank you. I don’t really touch the stuff.” Caitie said shaking her head.

“And why’s that, my dear?” Niklaus asked as he poured a drink for himself.

“Just never did. No reason.” Said Caitie as she was looking at him pour the drink.

Niklaus didn’t really care if she drank he just needed to. It helped his cravings badly. But this craving is very hard to ignore, especially when he had already had a taste of her delicious blood, and he was very hungry as well.

“So, are we going to practice fighting tonight, or do you have something else in mind?” asked Caitie, looking at Niklaus darkly.

Taking a sip of his drink and putting it on the counter top of the desk next to him, he walked over to the chair Caitie was standing next to. As he sat down Caitie climbed on top on his lap facing him.

“You know what I find weird, Caitie?” Niklaus asked, examining Caitie.

“And what may that be, Niklaus? Your inability to be seduced?” Caitie teased, while taking the ribbon out of her hair.

Niklaus looked at her darkly and chuckled. He slowly reached up her back and grabbed the back of her neck and moved her to his right so she was horizontal to the ground. She didn’t seem to care. In fact she seemed to love it. He brought her back up guiding her with his hand, and grabbed her neck a little tighter and started to kiss her right side of her neck slowly. He knew he shouldn’t be doing this. But he couldn’t stop. He went up the side of her next and onto her face and gently kissed her lips. He couldn’t think of anything going wrong at such a perfect moment. Until they both decided to open their eyes.

“NIKLAUS?! Your EYES?!” Caitie shrieked, jumping off his lap and falling onto the ground.

Niklaus jumped up from the excitement and ran to a mirror. His eyes were blood red and around his eyes were dark black veins popping out of his skin. He shut them tightly, begging them to go away. Not now. Not this night.

He opened his eyes and the veins were gone but his eyes were still red. He couldn’t do anything. He was too hungry. He turned to Caitie who was still on the ground laying there in horror.

“What is wrong with your eyes, Niklaus?” Caitie said slowly getting up.

There was no way out of it. He had planned on telling her tonight but obviously not this way. But he saw no other option but to tell her the truth.

“I’m hungry Catherine. Extremely hungry. I haven’t eaten in days” He said as plain as ever.

“Well then let me make you something to eat.” Caitie said about to walk into the kitchen.

“There is nothing in there that would get rid of this hunger.” Niklaus snapped at her.

“What do you mean?” Caitie said, confused. She took a step backwards from him.

Niklaus saw that and he knew it meant that she might not take it well at all as he thought she would. But he had to press on.

“I am a vampire, my lady.” Niklaus said as his eyes had finally turned back to normal. He just stared at her.

“You’re a what?” Caitie said. Some of it did not come out too clearly.

“Now Niklaus, like all the Mikaelsen family, was very handsome. He had shoulder length blonde hair with a slight curl to it, with blue eyes that looked like crystals. But as he stepped down from the staircase he had a stern look on his face, he took her hand and gave it a kiss, before he followed Catherine into the back courtyard behind the mansion.”

Hey if you are into Fan fiction!!

this one is about Niklaus from the Vampire Diaries. It’s called “Play to Win” It starts off way back a little after he got turned into a vampire and how he met the lovely Caitie. The story goes back and forth between the now where Stefan and Elena are having trouble killing Klaus, to when Klaus was having issues of his own way back.

The story is obviously of my own imagination. I also wrote in my friends name cause she has never read a story where her name is in it. Haha.

I tried to keep some of the facts but its obviously of my own twist. Please read and enjoy.

“Watch your tone with me, young lady.” Niklaus said with a meaningless stare. “I will not be talked to like that. I was simply admiring your handy work.”

“Maybe I don’t need you admiring it everyday.” The woman snapped back.

“Alright, let’s see what you’ve got” Niklaus challenged, as he stepped into the circle where the previous fights had been fought.

“Are you serious?” She said confused.

“As serious as I will ever be”

They stood there for a moment or so gathering themselves. When the woman went in to lunge for the first time, Niklaus sped by to end up behind her. She stumbled over herself having missed and turned around to him. “How…did…you do that?” She asked fascinated.

“You learn a thing or two when you are old as I.” And with that he went in for a punch. She blocked it fast along with his other punches. He got in a few but she went back at him in the chest. She got him a few times but he was fast. She couldn’t believe it. She could barley see him half the fight. Finally he ended up twisting her arm around her back and he pressed up against her and whispered, “You ready to surrender?”

She choked, catching her breathe. “What are you?” He pushed hard against her pulling her arm up more. She cringed in pain. “Well that you will just have to find out won’t you?” Niklaus said as he let go of her arm.

She fell onto the ground and collected herself. Coughing up a little bit of blood from where he hit her in the mouth. She turned to him, still sitting on the ground. “I must say Mr. Mikaelsen, you were certainly a good challenge. I haven’t had it as rough as that in a while.”

Niklaus bent down to look her in the eyes. Just stared at her as she stared back with a little bit of fear in her eyes. He got closer to her face and whispered, “There is more where that came from darling.” And with that he took his thumb and wiped the little bit of blood off her chin. He got up and turned around and started walking away.

“Catherine is my name, by the way. But you can call me Caitie.” She said as she sat on the ground stunned.

“Will do, Caitie, will do.” and as his back was turned to her, walking away, he slipped his thumb into his mouth and licked the blood off.

From that moment on they had seen each other everyday; sneaking around to see each other. Niklaus didn’t want his brothers and sister knowing that he was sneaking around with a human. It was absurd. His kind doesn’t fall in love. It was a weakness, and he could not have one.

But alas, he could not lie to himself as he was lieing to his family. He told his family that she was a girl that he was teaching to fight so she could compete for money. They didn’t understand why he was teaching a woman to fight and he told them that she was good but not good enough so he said she would help her.

“Hope you are getting something out of it, brother.” Kol said while at the dinner table one night. Compelling her to give you her blood after every lesson, you must be. You have been out almost every night for seven days now. You must be, are you not?”

To get Kol off his back Niklaus simply agreed. “Yes, her blood is indeed very good; especially when it is after a good fighting.”

“You must be careful, Niklaus.” A voice reined over the table.

Niklaus looked up to find his father staring him right in the eye.

“We must not toy with the humans. One might get suspicious of us.” Mikael said sternly.

“I am not toying, father. I am simply having fun.” Niklaus snapped back.

“Then your fun must end soon so we do not have to move out of town for some unknown girl’s death! People have seen you two together. If you are draining her each night then you will surly kill her in a couple. It ends.” His voice echoed into the halls. It was silent for a moment. Niklaus was so angry you could see his eyes start to turn blood red. As he calmed himself down he knew all he could do was lie and lie.

“As you wish, father”

Play to win. 1

Hope you enjoy. Again. Not all info is right. I’m just writing to right. Enjoy. PLUS CATHERINE/Caitie is not the Katherine from the show. just saying…

It all started on a summer night; where the stars were bright and the moon was high up in the sky. A ball was being taken place at the Mikaelsen mansion. As the leaves fell from the trees the guests started arriving.

As the guests walked through the big doors they would see the Mikaelsen family all dressed up in their good clothes to impress. Everyone knew the Mikaelsen family and loved them. They mostly feared them for they dare not want to figure out if the rumors were true. Fairly recently it had been said that the family were vampires. So when everyone got their invitations, no one dared say no.

Everyone knew the family by name. There was Mikael; The father of all. Esther, the mother everyone loved. Then the children from eldest to youngest; Elijah, Finn, Niklaus, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. They were all very handsome and beautiful children so many fawned over them, but not too close.

Everyone didn’t dare go close, except for one.

“Excuse me Sir Mikaelsen.”, Said a woman.

“Yes, Catherine.” Mikael said. The woman was well known by the Mikaelsen family. She had lived aroundMysticFallsher whole life and knew the Mikaelsen’s well enough. She had long dark brown hair with a hint of red in it along with big hazel eyes that no one could miss. For a commoner, everyone looked her way.

“May I have a word in private with Niklaus?” asked Catherine.

“Yes you may but make it quick. The party is about to begin and we wouldn’t want one of the hosts to be missing it” Mikael said with sternness. He liked Catherine a lot. She was a fine young woman but he much preferred her to be with Elijah. Mikael was not fond of Niklaus.

Now Niklaus, like all the Mikaelsen family, was very handsome. He had shoulder length blonde hair with a slight curl to it, with blue eyes that looked like crystals. But as he stepped down from the staircase he had a stern look on his face, he took her hand and gave it a kiss, before he followed Catherine into the back courtyard behind the mansion.

“I have a little bone to pick with you Niklaus Mikaelsen.” Catherine said getting in front of Niklaus.

“And what might that be? Miss Catherine?” Niklaus said, as his face got a little angrier.

“You threw my lucky stone in the river. I want you to go get it.”

            “Excuse me?

“You threw it into the river when I told you to give it back. Twas not funny, Niklaus. I told you how much that stone meant to me.”

“How can a stone mean so much to someone?” Niklaus said with such a look of disgust.

“My brother gave it to me before he passed. He didn’t have a chance to tell me what it meant to him and I don’t care. I have kept it by my side since. It may not seem like much but I treasure it with all of my heart.”

“Well then, Miss Catherine. You’re just going to have to take it back” and with that Niklaus took out of his pocket a little stone that was as tiny as a thimble and held it on the side of him. Catherine looked at him in shock.

“You didn’t throw it?”  , she said with such a relief look on her face.

“I know my reputation says that I’m a mean man, but when I fancy someone such as you Caitie, I’m not going to dare lose that.”

            “Niklaus I….”

Before she could finish her sentence Niklaus pulled her close and began kissing her passionately. Her head in his hand, and her back in his other, pulling her close. Caitie didn’t even hesitate when she kissed him back. They held each other close.

When Niklaus pulled away he had this dark smile on his face.

“You know I love it when you give me such an evil smile, as if you’re up to something.” Caitie said with her arms around his neck.

“You always know when I am.” Niklaus’s smile got even wider.

“Oh I have to show you something” Caitie said pulling away and sitting on the ground.

“Learn more witch tricks I see?” Niklaus mocked.

“Shhhhh. Be quiet, Niklaus. I don’t want people to hear you.”

“Trust me,” as he sat down beside her, “they would probably rather hear witch than vampire, don’t you think” He said with a smirk on his face.

“I guess you are right.” She said closing her eyes and beginning to concentrate.

Silence passed for a moment. Niklaus just sat there looking around, looking as though he was getting bored. So he began to whistle.

“Niklaus, it will not work if you are not silent!” Caitie said angrily, still with her eyes closed.

“You know why it will not work?, “ he said leaning over and looking at her. “It’s cause you are not a witch. You shouldn’t believe all the things your mother says. Now I don’t want to hurt your feelings but…..” and as he said that he felt a little wet object fall on his face. He looked up and it started slowly at first but it soon gradually began to snow.

Looking around him and then down at Caitie, he said, “You never cease to amaze me, do you?”

“And you thought I was crazy.” She said smiling.

He leaned in close to her. “I love crazy, Caitie.”, and kissed her gently on the lips as the snow fell in their hair. After a few moments the snow stopped, and Niklaus and Caitie jumped back into reality.

“We should probably get inside. Your family is probably wondering where we are.” Caitie said getting up off the ground.

“Ah but there is still one more thing I have yet to do, Caitie.” Niklaus said with an evil grin on his face.

“I knew you were up to something. So what is it? A new prank you want to pull on me because you know I will get you back sooner or later. I grew up with two brothers and they taught me a lot.” Caitie said sternly, pointing a finger at him. “They just never taught me how to fight a vampire” Putting the finger down she smiled and laughed at her stupidity as she looked down from him.

“I bet you could kick my ass” Niklaus said, while picking up her head to look him in the eye. “But only if I were to let you”

Nicklaus and Catherine’s (Caitie’s) history was tough.
Niklaus ran into a brawl one day while walking with his sister and brothers. One man was getting his arse whooped by some kid in a sweater with a hood. Small but mighty was an understatement compared to the size of the man this kid was fighting. After the man surrendered the kid turned away and started to walk back into the village. What the kid didn’t see is that one of the man’s friends was going in for revenge. One thing Niklaus hated was fighting while the other opponents back was turned. He was about to go in to help when the friend got closer to the kid, ripped off the hood and WHAM! The kid, was not a kid at all, But a young woman. And she clearly had a 6th sense because she turned around fast and hit the man square in the face because his nose to break so hard you could clearly hear it. As then man fell to the ground the woman looked around and screamed “Anyone else?” As they all stood in silence looking at her, she started to walk away towards the Mikaelsen family.

“I fancy a woman who can fight.” Niklaus said as she walked by.

She turned around and looked right at him in disgust.

“Go to hell” and she turned away and kept walking.

“She. Is. Stunning.” Niklaus said in a murmur to himself. From that moment on he vowed that he was having her as his own. But what he didn’t know is how hard it would be.

Everyday after that brawl, at the same time returned to that same place where several other brawls took place. As usual the woman always won. And after everyone, Niklaus clapped. All the woman did was look at his with a face of confusion and went on her way.

Finally, one day after one brawl and, as usual, Niklaus applauded her, the woman went over to him and asked, “Who are you?”

“I think the better question is, who are you, love”

“I asked first, now who the hell are you? You come here everyday and just watch and never fight and then you just applaud after any fight I do.”

            Niklaus chuckled darkly to himself.

“What?!” the woman said with shocked confusion on her face.

“The names Niklaus Mikaelsen. I’ve been watching you fight because I think its amazing that a woman can fight like that. I like it. It goes to show some women aren’t all usless.”

“Watch your tongue, Mr. Mikaelsen.” She said fast and angry. “Just because some of the woman choose to keep their roles as housewives that cook and clean doesn’t mean I have to. I grew up with two brothers and a strong father. I learned as they have learned. And I will not be taken as a joke.”
